Hopelessly Flawed

About

Heather

Heather

I’m Heather, the mommy behind the madness, and I’m Hopelessly Flawed.  And fine with it, really – the wrinkles make life interesting.

I’m a thirty-something stay-at-home mom to 3 amazing little girls.  I’m very fortunate and I try not to ever forget that.  I am a Christian and very thankful for God’s grace in my life.  I’m also the VP of Garden Party Teas, a designer of custom children’s clothing, a writer, a Disney nut, and a member of the inaugural Walt Disney World Moms Panel*.  I’m on a brief hiatus from the site right now, but will rejoin the panel later this year.  I can’t wait!  In my ‘free’ time, I also squeeze in volunteering at my daughter’s school, coaching youth soccer, gardening, and reading everything I can get my hands on.  Sleep?  Not so much.

Chris

Chris

My other half is Chris, long-suffering hardworking  husband and recently diagnosed AS patient.  By day he is a financial analyst, and by night he is housekeeper extraordinaire, picking up the slack to compensate for my weaknesses.  His medical problems have prompted us to change a lot of things about our life, and we’re experiencing growing pains.  He has an MBA and an honorary master’s in grass-growing.  Weird, I know, but he’s totally obsessed with it.  And while he may be a fountain of landscaping knowledge, I urge you to proceed with caution if you’re thinking of asking him a gardening question.  You may hear far more than you ever wanted to know.  For far longer than you wanted to listen.  But except for the occasional ribbing, I let it slide since we very obviously have the best looking yard on the block.  Come and visit sometime, we’ll prove it.

Annie

Annie

My firstborn is Annabelle, a 6-year-old with a 60-year-old soul.  Her IQ is off-the-charts, but far more impressive is her character.  She is more profound than any child I’ve ever met, and she humbles me on a daily basis.  I have learned a lot from Annie.  She’s got a very precise moral compass, an unwavering faith in God, and she’s never afraid to stand up for what’s right.  She is kind and generous and thoughtful.  She’s also a perfectionist, and getting a practice star in school (only once) brings out her high-strung side.  ‘That will never happen again,’ she vowed – and it hasn’t.

Catie

Catie

28 months later Caitlin joined our family.  Catie is a 4.5 year old whirlwind, spunky and spirited and full of life.  A day with Catie is exhausting, and it looks like a tornado has blown through our house, but she makes me laugh and keeps me on my toes.  She has a fantastic sense of humor, and she loves to entertain.  She changes her clothes approximately 32 times a day, and has been known to wear as many as 5 layers at one time.  She’s also very complimentary…I think she knows that any kid as ornery as she is has got to be extra cute.  It works.

Lilly

Lilly

And finally we were joined by Lillian, a beautiful surprise package that arrived 19 months after Catie.  I marvel every day that we didn’t know we needed her – she truly completes our family.  Lilly is sweet and feisty, and you’re taking your life in your own hands if you step between her and food.  She’s mostly laid back, but meal time is serious stuff, and she’s not afraid to run you over to get to the table.  Lilly’s obsession (and one of her first words) is shoes, and she currently has 21 pairs.  She is three.

Rounding out the Flawed family are 3 dogs.

Cooper

Cooper

Cooper is a pony-ish 120 pounds, and I adore him.  He’s laid back, eager to please, loves kids, food, and playing fetch, and never barks.  What more could a girl ask for?

Wrigley
Wrigley

Wrigley is a word that I don’t say out loud more challenging.  What can I say?  She’s my husband’s dog, and I’m stuck with her.  She’s a pain in the butt, but I make Chris deal with all the naughty things she does (or else she’d have to find a new home).

Molly
Molly

Molly is our only inside dog, a 1-year-old Shih Tzu.  She is sweet, mellow, and absolutely adorable, and she follows me everywhere. She won’t even go outside to potty with someone else before turning to ask my permission. Smart girl.

So that’s us in a nutshell.  We’re a zany bunch, Hopelessly Flawed, but very grateful for God’s forgiveness and always trying to be more worthy of His love.

Thanks for stopping by, and drop me a line sometime.  I love emails and I value your comments!
