You Can Make This Giveaway
So here it is, the crafty giveaway I promised you. I know I was supposed to deliver this yesterday, but when I posted I forgot that it was a holiday weekend. Please pardon my tardiness. I think the cool factor is worth the wait!
So last year I found a new project that I love to make. I made these name pillows for my neice:

my nephews:

and all three of my daughters:

for Christmas. I even made one for the Angel Tree child we shopped for:

I have since sold these in local boutiques, given them as gifts, and made them for friends.

They are always a huge hit! They are especially unique because they can be personalized to match the child’s room (as I did for my girls):

You can also use their favorite character, sports team, etc. And they are the ultimate present for a child whose name isn’t common. (Don’t we all remember looking through those plastic bike license plates?)
Even better than that, they are honest-to-goodness easy to make. I promise! You do not have to have any special equipment or sewing knowledge to make this pillow. The instructions are easy to read, very clear, and detailed enough that you will not feel lost.
The cost of the project will vary depending on the finishes you choose, but I know you can do these for under $10 per pillow if you buy inexpensive fabric. An easy and economical project!
In the interest of honesty, I have to tell you that I was asked to review this item for a giveaway. However, you should also know that when asked I was able to tell them that I did not need their free instructions to try the pattern out, because I had already bought it! So I can whole-heartedly tell you that this is a good, high quality product that is worth every penny.
I know some of you are probably thinking that you couldn’t do this. You are wrong. You Can Make This is the name of the website, and it ain’t called that for nothin’. I promise you can do this. You’ll need your sewing machine, scissors, fabric, thread, wonder-under, pillow stuffing, and a spare hour or two. The more you make, the faster you will get. And did I mention that they’re fun?
Now for the goods. YouCanMakeThis.com is offering two lucky readers a FREE copy of the Pesonalized Name Pillow e-book! How awesome is that?

All you have to do is leave me a comment here telling me who you would make a pillow for, and you’re in! If you really really want to win, you can receive an extra entry each for blogging, tweeting, or linking to this post. (If you tweet, send it @hopelessnflawed so I can find you!) All entries must be received by midnight EST next Tuesday, June 2. The winner will be chosen by random drawing and will be announced on Wednesday, June 3.

Good luck, and happy sewing!

Those are cute. I have nieces and nephews that I would enjoy making pillows for. I’m going to check out their site. I’ve been away from sewing for years, but this small project might be an easy way to get back to doing some crafty activities that I’ve kinda missed.

Well if they are truly that easy, I’d make pillows for Natalie, Aiden, Brody, and Ely. (For those that don’t know them, Natalie is my dd and the boys are my nephews). I’d also make one for my niece Amber and my SIL’s nephew Byron!

They really are easy! It’s so fun to pick out the coordinating fabrics and decide on your layout! And then if you can use an iron and step on a sewing machine pedal, you can do it! One condition though Jen – when you start making these you MUST join SSCD and sell them!

Love it! I’m completely updating Ruth and Molly’s room this summer (if the $$ allows) and I know they would love it. Have to dig out the sewing machine. lol

My daughter is looking over my shoulder and says she wants one – so that answers that question. I have some horse fabric which I think I’ll use!
I agree with Liz – Ive been away from sewing for several years, but this would be a great project! I DO want my daughter to be comfortable with sewing (at least for minor repairs), and she did enjoy it when she was very young. She and I can pick some co-ordinating fabrics together from the remnants bin, then work on this together (she is 7 now)

Considering I can barely thread a needle, I would have to give my mom the sewing instructions. lol But I do need a welcome baby for my newest niece/nephew arriving in July!

These are soo cute, I would make them for my son and two daughters. I just bought a new sewing/embroidery machine this past weekend. This would be a great project to work on with my kids this summer. They would have a blast picking out their own material for their pillows.

Those are way up there on the adorable factor. And, honestly, I’m surprised you needed a pattern for this seeing as how you’ve got more talent in your pinky than could be found in me *and* my clone. Unfortunately I have to opt out of the giveaway because I’m really, really, really not a sewer. Very cute product though.

I confess I didn’t so much need a pattern for the design but I wanted the embroidery font that came with it!
I bought it on SWAKembroidery.com so I could get the kimberbell applique font for my machine, but it’s not necessary to have that make the pillow. The letters can be done on a regular machine, too!
You really, really, really don’t have to be a sewer, I promise!

This has me feeling bad already for the hyphenated name we’ve chosen for our Chinese adopted daughter we’re waiting on.
She’ll never have ANYTHING personalized with a 12 letter name.
Sheesh.

I’m getting closer and closer to getting my sewing machine out again and I know my dd would love this! I also have some great-nieces/nephews that these would be perfect gifts for!

Awesome job on those!!! I have been looking for a hobby to get into. Wanted to crochet, but I am too untalented at this point. My DD name is Madisen and we can never find anything with the E spelling so this would be perfect.
